How We Mentor
Our Story
Built on the belief that showing up matters.
A Few Good MENtors was founded in 2019 after Michael R. Morgan reflected on the values, support, and life lessons he received from his parents and siblings. He saw a need for more young men to have dependable adults in their corner.
What began with that conviction has grown into a structured mentoring organization where trained mentors, families, and community partners work together to help young men move forward.
How We Mentor
Relationships with a rhythm and a purpose.
AFGM connects young men ages 8–21 with trained adult mentors who commit to building consistent, meaningful relationships.

A steady weekly rhythm
Mentors meet or contact their mentees for at least one hour each week.
Shared growth
Monthly S.H.I.E.L.D.S. Meetups, family involvement, community service, and shared experiences keep the work connected.
Structure and support
Initial and quarterly mentor training support a nine-month S.H.I.E.L.D.S. Journey.

What Makes AFGM Different
