Committee members work alongside the AFGM Board and leadership team on focused parts of the organization. It is a meaningful way to support the mission without taking on the full responsibilities of board service.

Community Engagement & Events Committee
Builds relationships between AFGM and the community.
Community partnerships, Saturday Meetups, special events, family activities, volunteer engagement, and the AFGM Future Leaders Ceremony.
Fundraising Committee
Generates the support that helps AFGM provide programs to families.
Fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, sponsorships, corporate relationships, and community fundraising opportunities.
Analytics & Impact Committee
Helps AFGM measure whether programs are making a difference.
Program data, surveys, attendance and retention measures, dashboards, program outcomes, and impact reporting.
Resource Management Committee
Identifies and manages the resources that keep AFGM programs moving.
Facilities, supplies, technology, equipment, donated goods, and other organizational resources.
Education Committee
Creates educational and career-development opportunities for AFGM mentees.
Workshops, guest speakers, career exposure, college and workforce opportunities, educational partnerships, and learning experiences.
Government & Political Affairs Committee
Helps AFGM understand and engage with public-policy matters affecting youth mentoring, families, and the communities served.
Relationships with local, state, and federal officials and agencies, relevant legislation and public initiatives, public discussions, and representing AFGM’s mission in a nonpartisan manner. This committee does not endorse political candidates or parties.
Finance Committee
Supports responsible financial oversight and planning for AFGM.
Budgeting, financial reporting, financial controls, and long-term financial planning alongside the Treasurer and organizational leadership.
Committee Service
You Don’t Have to Join the Board to Make a Difference
Maybe you believe in what AFGM is doing but are not ready to become a board member. That is okay.
